David H. Koch Child Care Center, MIT Cambridge MA

The assembly of 21 modular units provides 13,400 s.f. of childcare space for a new MIT childcare center. The design emphasizes the modular construction which was utilized to meet an aggressive construction schedule. The components were shifted and rotated to create upper story exterior activity spaces and covered exterior alcoves on the lower level. The center provides childcare services for children, birth through Pre-K. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Participating in design development
  • Exploration of exterior cladding systems and building envelope assembly
  • Coordination of engineering consultants
  • Development of construction documents
